Acrylic, oil paint and clay on wood
100×40cm

This is a painting that explores the darker themes of systematic oppression, war, grief and man vs nature. The making of the atomic bombs, the realities of war, evil, pain and harsh realities.

One figure is seen carrying a deceased loved one, with a “backpack” - carrying their own baggage as well. Another figure is seen in the right corner, holding the chains around the deceased persons leg, in front of a lock. Holding the key, but choosing not to open it despite the damage being done.

It is depicting a dangerous cycle of human ego that can be broken - but that some sadly choose not to break, even in awareness of true evil.
