Lykke IV

NOK 1,200.00

5,5×6cm
Terracotta clay, steel wire, acrylic & oil paint, gloss

«I love the metaphor of having a jazz band of ladybugs in my head to describe what ADHD feels like. The ladybug fairy Lykke is a celebration of that ♡”

A reminder of survival, sacred vulnerability and vision in the dark. The smallest Lykke I have made, I love that the ladybug she is inspired by looks like it has eyes on its back. I hope this Lykke finds someone who wields their sensitivity as a compass, and walks through the dark even if it can be frightening - embracing equilibrium. It can be as deep as you need it to be ♡

Ladybugs are a symbol of good luck, hope and protection around the world as well as being a cute sight to see. This creature is inspired by the twice-stabbed black and red ladybug, Chilocorus stigma. Unlike the red ladybug, it has two red spots on its back which has given its name. It feeds on pests that damage plants ♡

~
PS. This sculpture can not stand up on its own, as its wings are too heavy
PS. All from the Lykke series are fragile, making them hard to send over long distances. Recommended for people close to south-east Norway. If not, we will find a way :)
